The Business Case for Coaching: Effective leadership remains a top concern for organizations

  • Succession planning is taking on a new urgency as baby–boomers head toward retirement.

Where Companies are Falling Short

  • Executive programs tend to be generic and academic.
  • In–house leadership programs and orientation programs may help align leaders to corporate culture and strategy, but these programs rarely take into account the individual needs of each participant.
  • In today’s organizations, management layers and opportunities have been reduced, resulting in the elimination of lower–risk, incremental and developmental assignments. Positions carry greater responsibility and higher risk than ever before.
